The details of the assault were still unclear on Tuesday morning. Their lives would no longer be in danger.
The third victim, a 20-year-old woman, was left at the scene. The perpetrator, whose profile was not specified by the law enforcement, was no longer present at the location when the gendarmes arrived. They mobilized three dog teams, a helicopter, and several patrols to try to trace the suspect, as stated by the prosecutor of Nantes, Renaud Gaudeul, at the end of the morning.
Eventually, during the night, a phone contact with the suspect was established, additionally mobilizing two crisis negotiators. The wanted individual was arrested on Tuesday at 11 a.m. *“without offering resistance,”* added the prosecutor. The investigation into this attack has been entrusted to the gendarmerie unit of Loire-Atlantique, under the direction of the Châteaubriant Research Brigade, as further specified by the Nantes public prosecutor’s office.
