For its first issue of the year, *Le Figaro Histoire* has chosen to revisit a central event in European history: the upheavals known as the “Great Invasions” that shaped the continent from the 4th to the 10th century. Over these six hundred years, Germanic peoples, Slavs, Arabs, and Vikings succeeded one another and settled in the kingdoms born from the ruins of the Roman Empire. We present stories, reports, and viewpoints, but also everything that history inspires us to shed light on the present.”
