The journalist Emily Maitlis is portrayed by Gillian Anderson. The film, produced by Netflix, is expected to be one of the most anticipated by fans of the British Crown.

The first images from the film show how the interview scenes were faithfully recreated, with Anderson playing the bold character of journalist Emily Maitlis, and photographs showing Sewell and Anderson discussing in a re-creation of Buckingham Palace where the interview took place. The synopsis mentions, “From the tension of negotiations between the editor Sam McAlister and Buckingham Palace, to Emily Maitlis’s breathtaking confrontation with the prince, Scoop takes us inside the story, with women who would stop at nothing to get it.”

The production is based on the book “Scoops – Behind the Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interviews” by former Newsnight editor Sam McAlister.
