The rapper and producer received an honorary award for his career and used the opportunity to denounce what he sees as the injustice his wife has faced. He pointed out that “she has won more Grammys than anyone else, but she has never won Album of the Year [which Taylor Swift won for the fourth time, Editor’s note],” prompting applause.

Dressed in a cowboy outfit, she could be seen in a couple of shots as her husband advocated for her. With a smile on her face, she applauded and seemed to implicitly give her approval.

“We love you, we love you, we love you. But do it right, or at least fairly…” continued Jay-Z addressing the Recording Academy, the organization that manages the Grammy Awards.

“Some of you will go home feeling like they got robbed. Some of you might actually get robbed.

And some of you shouldn’t even be in the different categories,” added the rapper in a plea welcomed with laughter and applause. Clearly, Jay-Z ended his speech with an explanation: “When I’m stressed, I tell the truth.”

So be it.

Hecho.
