In Ile-de-France, on public transport networks (including SNCF & RATP), the discount rate is 50% off the full fare regardless of the number of children. The price of a ticket in 2nd class is calculated by applying this discount rate to the full fare price of 2nd class for the chosen route and train. In 1st class, the amount of the discount obtained in 2nd class is deducted from the full fare price of 1st class for the chosen route and train. Separated parents are also entitled to this discount.
For blended families, the card is issued to the mother or father if the family has had at least and simultaneously for a minimum of three years, five living children under the age of eighteen. For these households, the card is valid for 6 years. A fee of 19 euros is charged for the application process (an application includes the members of the same family). This fee is non-refundable.
The card is valid for 3 years from the date of issue, excluding validity limitations related to family situation (18th birthday, child support, residency in France).
