The accident occurred on Sunday late morning on hard and slippery snow while the two victims, “French and in their forties”, were in a steep and rugged area, indicated the PGHM, confirming information from France Bleu Haute-Savoie. Four gendarmes, including a doctor, went to the scene and confirmed the deaths of the two men. A private company helicopter was first mobilized for reconnaissance before a gendarmerie helicopter was used, assisted by a winch. An investigation has been opened to establish the circumstances of the accident, under the authority of the Bonneville prosecutor’s office.
